Return & Refund Policy
At Stellar Car Audio and Accessories, we want you to be completely satisfied with your car audio equipment and accessories. This Return & Refund Policy explains our process for returns, refunds, and exchanges.
Return Window

You may return most items within 30 days of the delivery date for a refund or exchange.

The 30-day period starts from the date the carrier delivers the item to you (as shown on tracking).

Preordered or backordered items follow the same 30-day window once delivered.
Eligibility for Returns
To be eligible for a return:

The item must be in original, unused, and uninstalled condition with all original packaging, accessories, manuals, and tags intact.

You must provide proof of purchase (order number or receipt).

The item must not show signs of installation, use, wear, or modification.
Non-Returnable Items (all sales final on these unless defective):

Opened or used electronics (e.g., amplifiers, speakers once removed from sealed packaging)

Clearance, closeout, or final-sale items (clearly marked at purchase)

Personalized or special-order items

Software, firmware updates, or digital downloads

Items damaged due to improper installation or customer misuse
Defective or Damaged Items

If your item arrives damaged, defective, or incorrect, contact us within 5 business days of delivery.

We will arrange for a replacement or full refund (including original shipping costs) at no extra charge to you, provided the issue is verified.

For manufacturer defects discovered later, the manufacturer's warranty applies (see our Warranties section in Terms & Conditions).
Return Process

Contact our customer service team at [insert email/phone] or through your account to request a Return Authorization (RA) number. Returns without an RA may be refused.

Ship the item back to us at the address provided with the RA. We recommend using a trackable shipping method and insuring the package.

Include the RA number, original packing slip (if available), and a brief note explaining the reason for return.

Return shipping costs are your responsibility unless the item is defective/damaged upon arrival.
We do not accept returns sent to our retail location without prior authorization.
Refunds

Once we receive and inspect your return, we will notify you by email whether the return is approved.

If approved, refunds are processed to your original payment method within 5–10 business days.

Refunds typically appear on your statement within 5–10 additional business days, depending on your card issuer.

Original shipping costs are generally non-refundable.

Return shipping costs are not refunded (except for defective/damaged items).

Sales tax will be refunded where applicable (we handle Illinois sales tax adjustments internally as required by state rules).
Partial refunds or restocking fees (up to 15–25%) may apply in some cases, such as:

Returns missing original packaging or accessories

Items returned in resaleable but not “new” condition
We reserve the right to deny a refund if the item does not meet our eligibility criteria.
Exchanges

We happily offer exchanges for a different size, color, or model when available.

You pay any price difference plus return shipping (if applicable). We may cover outbound shipping for the exchange item in certain cases.
Refunds for Preorders and Backorders

Preorders and backorders follow this policy once shipped and delivered.

You may cancel a preorder or backorder before it ships for a full refund (see our Preorder Policy and Backorder Policy for details).
Limitations and Disclaimers

We are not responsible for return packages lost or damaged in transit. Please use insured, trackable shipping.

Refunds do not include any consequential damages (e.g., installation labor, vehicle downtime, or shipping delays).

We reserve the right to modify this policy at any time. Changes apply to future purchases.
